Commissioner Murman proclaimed Small Business Week in Hillsborough County at a recent BOCC meeting by honoring Mojo Books & Music of Tampa. The business’ owner, Melanie Cade, was on hand to receive the commendation.

Stephen Martaus, Executive Director of the Early Childhood Council of Hillsborough County presented Sandy with the ECC’s first Lifetime Achievement Award for children’s advocacy at its statewide conference in Tampa.

Commissioner Murman and the Board of County Commissioners honored Wit Ostrenko, President of the Museum of Science and Industry, for his 25 years of service to the museum and the community.

As a member of the Hillsborough County Anti-Bullying Advisory Committee, Commissioner Murman asked the ABAC to deliver commendations to 23 schools participating in the Students Against Violence Everywhere program. Ken Gaughan and Tanly Cabrera accepted the awards on behalf of participating schools.

The funds are from the State’s Unclaimed Property Fund and are sourced from a variety of accounts in the county’s name.
