TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay area employers looking for new hires may find the matches they’re looking for at Hillsborough County’s upcoming job fair.
Hosted by Hillsborough County Commissioner Sandy Murman in conjunction with CareerSource Tampa Bay and Hillsborough Community College, the event still has space for employers. The fair is set to take place on Oct. 7 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the HCC Dale Mabry Campus, 4001 W. Tampa Bay Blvd.
Last year’s event drew more than 50 employers and vendors, the county said. Some interviewed potential employees right on the spot while others offered online links to their open position. Employers such as Amazon, Hillsborough County Schools and Coca-Cola all took part.
To make it easier for employers to sign up, the county is offering the application form online. All potential vendors and employers need to do to participate is visit the county online, print out the form, fill it out and send it in.
“With the challenges that we have been facing throughout Hillsborough County, the most important thing that we can do in county government is to help our unemployed or under employed citizens to find jobs,” Murman said in a statement. “When more people are working, more people are saving and spending money at local businesses, and the economy continues to improve.”
The Oct. 7 job fair is open to all jobseekers at no charge. To find out more about CareerSource Tampa Bay, visit it online.
